If you've ever met me, first, I apologize. Second, you likely noticed I'm an even 5'0"; perfect crotch-punching size. I promise I haven't decked anyone in the nards since my mother firmly informed me I was no longer allowed to defend myself against my brothers thusly. Nevertheless, I instill fear in some people because they naturally assume that I, like most short people, am actually three weasels in a trenchcoat, and we're aching for any reason to use our ratty little teeth on someone's belly.

God almighty damn, if I had the ability to make teens and twenty-somethings see sense, the first thing I'd do is make it clear to them that console wars are the number-one stupidest way to waste your time, your energy, and shatter your blood pressure before you're 35. Listen, I'm a scarred Nintendo fan from the '90s, I bore some deep lacerations when Sega fans came at me with the "BLAST PROCESSING!!" commercial that made Super Mario Kart look like shit next to Sonic.

When I was very small I’d watch Sesame Street and Polka Dot Door on an old CRT TV that rested on a stand. You turned it on by pulling the volume knob with a satisfying “CHUNK” that told on the TV’s heavy components. It had colour, but it was smeared thanks to weak signals and interference. When it broke, and it often did, you called in Sam the TV Man. God, throwing out a TV?! What a thought. Fuck you, Richie Rich.

It's been a bad month to be a Jew, and an even worse fucking month to be a Palestinian in Gaza. I imagine it hasn't been a real hot time for Muslims or people with brown skin in general. I saw a TikTok going around--I don't know who the author is, I'm sorry, I don't remember Tikkers' names, I'm old--that suggested this rile-up isn't simply about Palestine. It's a mass explosion of sorts that's born from resentment that's been simmering for decades, then was brought to a roiling boil after COVID.

Okay, this is driving me up the wall. I'm an 80s kid, so I'm familiar with Bonnie Tyler [Crosses self in reverence] and her hit song, "If You Were a Woman (And I Was a Man)."Great song, of course. That chorus is a karaoke hook. And I'm talking one of those meat hooks you hang dead cows from. It's epic. Mwah. Ava Max gave us the very inspired "Kings and Queens" just in time for the COVID 2020 lockdown. It uses Tyler's hook, but weaves its own sound in there, too.
