    The Association of Non-governmental organisations (ANGO), an umbrella body of civil society groups in Gombe State, has launched its Strategic Plan 2025-2030. The ANGO also commissioned the ‘Savannah Civic Centre’, a hub for civil society organisations (CSOs) in the state.     Suspected ‘Yan Kalare’ thugs allegedly killed a 45-year-old entrepreneur, Amadi Kasiran, on Sunday night in Hammadu Kafi community, Gombe metropolis, Gombe State. Amadi was the owner of a welding firm known as Amadi Kasiran Fabrications, which employed many residents. According to locals, the thugs have recently gone on rampages across parts of the state, attacking innocent residents.

    Gombe State Ministry of Education rewarded 24 students in the state who had the highest scores in this year’s Unified Tertiary Matriculation Examination (UTME). UTME is an annual examination organised by the Joint Admission and Matriculation Board (JAMB) for students seeking entrance into tertiary institutions in Nigeria. WikkiTimes reports that more than 70 per cent of Nigerian students scored lower than 200 marks in this year’s examination across the country.

    Gombe State Government has trained 200 women and 300 secondary school students on the production of anti-malnutrition food known as Ready-To-Use-Therapeutic Food (RUTF) in the state. The State, through the Ministries of Science, Technology and Innovation and that of Education, produced the RUTF tagged ‘Garin Inuwa’ for distribution to about 2,000 children selected across the state to address acute malnutrition.
