1 INTRODUCTION Obstructive sleep apnea (OSA) is a widespread sleep condition characterised by repeated instances of partial or total blockage of the upper airway while sleeping, resulting in periodic low oxygen levels and disrupted sleep. This condition is linked to a variety of negative health effects, such as heart disease, metabolic disorders, and cognitive impairment (Diamond & Ismail, 2021; Giampá et al., 2023; Kerner & Roose, 2016).
