I’ve never known my appetite to be so big since training started. I’m not new to running – I’ve done the Hackney half marathon three times, and during lockdown I used to run half marathons out of sheer boredom. But my appetite didn’t really change during these times. This time, my newfound hunger has taken me by surprise. Exercise became a lifestyle choice for me eight years ago. I love cooking, so making meals from starch never feels like a task either.

I’ve made a promise to give myself slower mornings now that I’m out of the corporate world, so I wake up naturally around this time. In the past, I would have to be up at 5am or 6am. My secret to waking up feeling refreshed is taking Olly melatonin before I go to sleep. The first thing I do when I wake up is drink a double espresso in bed. I then do some work, check my phone, start replying to some emails, comments and checking my YouTube analytics.

I wake up naturally and early every morning.  The first thing I do is switch on my Lumie light and reach for my laptop, pull it onto the bed, and start working. It's the time of the day where I’m the most alive, the sharpest, and I get so much done. I spend three hours going through all my emails and setting scheduled responses for 8am. My dog, Koda, will often jump on my bed and sit with me – he has separation anxiety.
