As the second meeting in a row of the City Council descended into chaos, I could only hope that this council will quickly bring on a strong city manager to bring order and focus. A group of protesters showed up Jan. 9 to demand their right to speak as part of general public comment. The problem was that, on the poor advice of the city attorney, the regular meeting had magically morphed into a special meeting with restrictions on public comment.
