    Wisconsin Republican officials filed a bill Friday that would ask voters to approve a 14-week abortion ban in Wisconsin. The new proposal includes exceptions for the health and life of the mother. State Republicans are using a rare procedural move to put the bill before voters. It's a different process than a constitutional amendment or a ballot question. The legislature would have to pass the measure and Gov. Tony Evers would need to sign it before it went to voters.

Police responded to the Modern 41 Motel around 4:43 a.m. on Jan. 5. Investigators say a man heard a commotion coming from the motel room next door around 3:15 a.m. He left the motel, and when he returned, he saw the woman, identified as Michele Fisher, on the floor of room No. 9.

    A Milwaukee County deputy was bitten by a K-9 officer overnight. The sheriff's office tells 12 News deputies and the police department were searching for a suspect involved in a car chase near 1st Street and Reservoir Avenue around 1:30 a.m. The sheriff's office says a deputy and his K-9 partner joined the search for the chase suspect. The deputy slipped on ice and fell, losing his grip on the K-9's lead. The K-9 saw another deputy running close by and mistook him as a threat.
