Living in the geographic region of Salt Lake Valley, which has access to many outdoor amenities, participants described renewed appreciation for the outdoors as influential in their decisions about ageing in place. Participants reported spending more time outdoors during the pandemic because they had significantly more free time, and because ‘people were very cautious about walking clear out around each other’ (participant 3, age 70, female).
