We have two nonfiction spots open for the Book Project, in which writers receive mentorship in completing and selling a book-length project. One opening is in the two-year program (for experienced writers who plan to complete a draft of a book by the fall of 2025) and one is in the one-year program (for graduates of the Book Project or experienced writers who are deep into their first book).

Natalie Hodges had me at stage fright and quantum physics. In poignant descriptions of her life as a violinist-in-training, I recognized a kindred tormented soul. Both of us abandoned classical music in our 20s, drained by the dilemma she so aptly articulates: “Why keep trying to love something that doesn’t love you back.” But Hodges’s relationship to music, like mine, did not end there.
