The recently opened Museo Vivo del Muralismo in Mexico City’s historic centre showcases more than 3,000 sq. m of murals by Modern artists including Diego Rivera and Roberto Montenegro alongside contemporary ones by Manuel Felguérez. The museum, housed in a building that served as the main facility for Mexico’s Ministry of Public Education (SEP), stands in a Unesco World Heritage site that was previously a colonial-era convent and customs house.

Just 16 years ago, the Museo Universitario Arte Contemporáneo (Muac) opened its doors to the public on the sprawling campus of Mexico’s storied national university, the Universidad Nacional Autónoma de México (Unam). In that short span, it has become a revered public institution in the full sense of the word: a leader in the display and conservation of contemporary art, a required destination for visitors and a recognised authority among its peer institutions in Mexico City.

Camille Tambunting, A&S '15, chief operating officer of Strategic Hospitality LLC, was featured in the Amazon Prime documentary Friends in Low Places: Building the Oasis. Released in March, the docuseries follows Garth Brooks, Trisha Yearwood, and others as they build a dream honky-tonk entertainment space in the heart of Nashville's Lower Broadway.

A group of Johns Hopkins undergraduate film students now gets a firsthand glimpse of the entertainment industry, as Southern California–based alumni gather annually to talk about Hollywood. The Hopkins in Hollywood panel currently takes place during an annual weeklong Intersession course in Los Angeles, which gives roughly a dozen students a behind-the-scenes look at the film and TV business.
