An Elizabeth Park teen accused of taking part in a northern suburbs crime spree allegedly threatened to stab two 12-year-old victims if they didn’t order him McDonald’s and hand over their phones, a court heard. The 13-year-old was one of three teens to face the Adelaide Youth Court from custody on Tuesday after they were arrested by the Youth and Street Gangs Task Force over a raft of serious offences committed over a week-long period.

A Ukrainian war memorial in Adelaide’s inner-south has been vandalised by paint and graffiti referencing Nazis. Deep red paint has been sprayed over the monument and the words “no nazi monument” written on pavers next to it. Located next to the Ukrainian Catholic Church Our Lady of Protection in Wayville, the monument was erected in memory soldiers who died for Ukraine’s liberation and is used by the church to commemorate the fallen.

Anti-domestic violence graffiti sprayed on a temporary construction wall in the Adelaide Hills has sparked a debate around gender-based violence, with many applauding efforts to raise awareness of the growing number of women killed annually. The words ‘101 women killed in 2024’ and “domestic violence is a men’s issue” were spray-painted on the temporary partition placed around the Woolworths redevelopment site at Stirling, with photographs of the work shared on social media.

South Australians should brace themselves for another cold front clipping parts of the state, with minimum temperatures set to drop to 6C this weekend – though it could feel chillier. Bureau of Meteorology senior meteorologist Angus Hines said the state will see a bout of icy conditions heading into the weekend, affecting overnight and morning temperatures.
