Kingston police say a person who allegedly threatened staff at a local hotel is now facing multiple charges after a whole rotisserie chicken stuffed with illicit drugs was found in their belongings. Police say they were called to the hotel on Tuesday night after someone reported that the suspect was making threats against the staff. Police say the suspect was arrested and a search of their belongings turned up fentanyl, cocaine and crystal meth - hidden inside a whole cooked chicken.

The long weekend is upon the nation's capital, and with that comes closures and possibly thunderstorms. Many stores and services are closed on Good Friday and Easter on Sunday, unfortunate given the weather is not set to cooperate in the region. Thursday temperatures are cool at 11 C and the sun is out, but thunderstorms and rain showers will dominate Friday and Saturday.

Ottawa police laid several charges against a man in connection with an armed robbery of a jewellery store at a west-end mall. It happened March 9 around 11:05 a.m., when four people entered Bayshore Mall and headed for a jewellery store. They threatened a security guard and later fled in a vehicle driven by another suspect, taking items with them.

With the long weekend approaching, some services and stores across the region could be closed or altering on a holiday schedule. Although the weekend is bringing warmer weather and starting sunny, thunderstorms and rain are set to roll across the region. Thursday is clear and warming up from the chill this week has left. Good Friday will have a chance of thunderstorms in the morning and rain throughout the day. Environment Canada says temperatures should hover around 18 C.

Halifax's professional soccer team signed a 16-year-old Nova Scotia native after an "impressive" season with the local clubs. Ben Marsh, raised in Fall River, was invited to the Wanderers' training camp after competing with Suburban FC and the Wanderers' U21 teams. The young star was named the 2024 Player of the Year.
