    The Tinker Air Show returns to Oklahoma City June 28-29, featuring the U.S. Air Force Thunderbirds. Dozens of military and civilian aircraft will be on display, including the MV-22 Osprey, C-17 Globemaster III, KC-Stratotanker and more. An attraction called “S.T.E.A.M. City” will provide entertainment and education on science, technology, engineering, artistry and math (STEAM). The event and parking are free. However, visitors should plan ahead before accessing the military base.

    25,000 runners are expected in Downtown Oklahoma City this weekend for the 2025 Oklahoma City Memorial Marathon. Although the events start at the Oklahoma City National Memorial and finish at Scissortail Park in downtown, the 26.2-mile marathon course spans a large portion of Oklahoma City, Nichols Hills and The Village. Saturday’s runs include a Memorial 5K, Senior Marathon and Kid’s Marathon, starting at 7 a.m. and lasting a few hours.

    Voters in Stillwater overwhelmingly passed a property tax increase to fund the construction of a new Animal Welfare facility to replace its aging center. Seventy-four percent of voters on Tuesday approved a 15-year general obligation bond to pay for the $8.75 million project. Click here for the full list of April 1 election results. Supporters said the new animal welfare center would cost property owners about $60 annually, based on a home valued at $240,000.

    Plans are underway to demolish downtown Oklahoma City’s Prairie Surf Studios, formerly known as the Cox Convention Center. Demolition begins in April to make way for the new Paycom Arena, which will be the future home of the Oklahoma City Thunder. The OKC City Council approved the arena’s construction team on Tuesday.

    The Edmond North High School community is mourning the loss of senior volleyball player, Maddie Hayes, who died from injuries in an ATV accident on Monday. In a post on the school’s volleyball Facebook page, the team described Hayes as “an incredibly bright student, genuine friend, talented athlete, hilarious soul, and a difference maker on/off the court.”Edmond North’s principal, Dandy Peeler, sent a letter to parents on Tuesday, sharing news of an accident involving a senior student.
