Tahaad Pettiford is obviously garnering the bulk of attention from Auburn in this year's NBA draft process, but a few other Tigers are looking to make waves as they head toward the professional route, too. Superstar big man Johni Broome, projected as a late-first or early second-round pick, will take part in this week's NBA Combine, while center Dylan Cardwell and shooting guard Miles Kelly were invited to last week's G League Elite Camp.

Auburn would love to see Johni Broome selected highly in the NBA Draft. But the program will be biting its nails over the pro prospects of its freshman point guard. A day after the NBA Draft lottery order has been set, with the Dallas Mavericks securing the No. 1 overall pick despite entering the lottery with a 1.8% chance to do so, ESPN's Jonathan Givony has both Broome and Tahaad Pettiford projected as second-round picks.

There's no doubt Auburn has some star power at its disposal in 2025. And the Tigers hope their roster improvements — which have been a couple years in the making — will finally pay off with a quality campaign under Hugh Freeze in Year 3. Auburn's coaching staff made it clear last season that they aren't afraid to throw freshmen into the fire. The Tigers led all of college football in 2024 in snaps among true freshmen, with a large number of those coming on defense. After just a few weeks, it became apparent that members of Auburn's 2024 recruiting class were plenty capable, if not more effective than their peers at a number of positions across the field.

There may not be a more revered source of praise in the entire college football industry than that of Pete Jenkins. The longtime LSU defensive line coach had one of the most respected careers of any assistant in the sport, with his first FBS job coming in 1973, spanning all the way to just a few seasons ago at LSU. That also includes a stop at Auburn under Terry Bowden in the late '90s. Nowadays, Jenkins still makes visits as a consultant for defensive line rooms across the country.
