By some misguided sense of athletic purity, I used to be a minimalist runner. I never ran with a watch, or a phone, or anything aside from my shoes, shorts, and shirt. While I have held onto some of that unadorned spirit—I still never listen to music while running—I’ve come around to some of the tech.
