Offer day was 9 April in Northern Ireland, and is 16 April in England, Scotland and Wales. On the day you get the offer, your letter, email or notification should tell you what to do next. In England, a parent or carer has to formally accept the offer by the given deadline.

A row has erupted between Nigel Farage and Britain's biggest teaching union after it branded Reform UK a "racist and far-right" party. National Education Union (NEU) members at their annual conference called for funds to be used to help campaign against Reform UK candidates. The NEU's general secretary, Daniel Kebede, claimed there were "an awful lot of racists who are getting involved in Reform".

The University of Sussex was the first to be fined under new powers given to the OfS in January. The higher education regulator's investigation examined the university's trans and non-binary equality policy, which said that course material must "positively represent trans people and trans lives" and also said "transphobic propaganda...
