Major shakeup for OSU coaching staff, both coordinators out

OSU has fired both of the coordinators for the football team -- offensive coordinator Kasey Dunn and defensive coordinator Bryan Nardo. A source close to the situation confirmed the news to FOX23 Wednesday. The Cowboys are coming off their worst season of the Mike Gundy tenure, losing their final nine games of the year to finish 3-9 and 0-9 in the Big 12.

TULSA, Okla. — Some football players at the University of Tulsa (TU) said they never received NIL (Name, Image, and Likeness) money they claimed they were promised by their head coach who was fired last month. The coach said he never made that promise because he didn't have the money to give the players. Starting TU quarterback Cooper Legas came to Tulsa as a transfer from Utah State. "What I was told was for the QB, Coach Wilson and the other people who were recruiting me specifically," said Legas.

Tulsa fired head football coach Kevin Wilson, the university confirmed to FOX23 Sunday morning before later making an official announcement. Wilson was in his second season at TU. He was a combined 7-16 over that time. The Golden Hurricane is 3-8 this season and 1-6 in conference play. Five of this season's losses were by at least 32 points including TU's most recent game, a 63-30 loss at South Florida Saturday.

Minnesotans can earn 85% tax credit while supporting affordable housing

IRON RANGE — Minnesotans can contribute at least $1,000 to receive an 85 percent tax credit and support affordable homeownership. The deadline of December 6 is approaching to take advantage of the Minnesota State Housing Tax Credit (SHTC) and Contribution Fund for the 2024 tax year. The program launched in late 2023 and generated almost $7 million in private contributions to support the completion of homes and apartments across the state in its inaugural year.

Berwick Rangers finished the season with a narrow 2-1 win over Albion Rovers to round out the campaign for the summer. The Dream Team endured a mixed season, but fans will be delighted that the team managed to finish the season will all three points. Berwick finished 13th in the Lowland League table, no doubt a finishing position that can be built on for next season that will see the team finish higher up the standings.

Oklahoma State has a new head basketball coach. FOX23 has confirmed the school is hiring Western Kentucky's Steve Lutz to take over the program after OSU fired Mike Boynton on March 14. An official announcement has been made yet. Lutz spent one season at Western Kentucky, leading the Hilltoppers to the NCAA Tournament this year. Western Kentucky lost in the first round to two-seed Marquette 87-69.
OU's Farooq arrested after traffic stop

OU star receiver Jalil Farooq was arrested Thursday night after a traffic stop, two days before the Sooners will play the Cowboys in the last Bedlam football game for the foreseeable future. The Norman Police Department report says Farooq was pulled over "with an expired paper tag driving erratically." The report also says the officer discovered Farooq has four outstanding municipal warrants. The junior wide receiver leads the Sooners in receiving with 449 yards in eight games on 26 catches.
