There was no indication of whether the Villans are willing to meet the Ligue 1 side’s request. But! Matt O’Riley left Celtic for Brighton & Hove Albion towards the end of last summer. The midfielder made his Brighton debut in the EFL Cup win over Crawley Town in August and was forced off the pitch due to an injury. He spent 74 days on the sidelines before regaining fitness in November. O’Riley finished his debut season at Brighton with 948 minutes from 23 games. He’s been speaking to the Danish media about his struggles during the campaign, and BT in Denmark have relayed his comments.

Chelsea are one of the clubs in the picture to sign Villarreal’s Karl Etta Eyong this summer, according to Africa Foot. The 21-year-old striker initially joined the La Liga club’s reserve team from Cádiz CF towards the end of last summer. He starred for Villarreal B, scoring 19 goals and registering six assists from 30 games. Karl Etta Eyong’s rapid rise helped him make his debut for the senior team in April. He’s played 33 minutes from four games and managed to score a goal in the process.

Earlier today, we covered claims from Italy that Manchester City have reached an agreement in principle with AC Milan over a move for Tijjani Reijnders. It was also stated the Premier League club will pay €70m to the Serie A club for the midfielder’s services. The Netherlands international is currently at his national team training camp preparing for the upcoming World Cup qualifiers against Finland and Malta.

Liverpool and Newcastle United have Stade Rennais’ Abdelhamid Aït Boudlal on their list for this summer, according to a report from Morocco. The 19-year-old left Morocco’s Mohammed VI Football Academy for the French club in July 2024. He hasn’t made his debut for the first team yet and Stade Rennais sent him on loan to Ligue 2 side Amiens SC in the winter market. Abdelhamid Aït Boudlal played nine games for Amiens and has to return to his parent club this summer.
