Newcastle United and Aston Villa could be options for Morten Hjulmand if he decides to leave Sporting in the summer window. That’s the opinion of former Arsenal striker Nicklas Bendtner shared on Stolpe Ind podcast. He’s of the belief the midfielder would fit well at Newcastle and can be an asset for Aston Villa. As well as the Premier League duo, he also mentioned Atlético Madrid as an option from Spain. Sporting face Moreirense FC in the league later today.

Tottenham Hotspur overcame competition from Manchester City and Paris Saint-Germain to secure a deal for Luka Vušković, according to L’Avenir. The 18-year-old’s rise at Hajduk Split attracted interest from several European clubs, including Spurs, Manchester City and PSG. L’Avenir state Manchester City had held talks with the Croatian side but couldn’t sign him and PSG also failed in their efforts.

Rangers have been eliminated from the Europa League after suffering a 2-0 defeat at the hands of Athletic on Thursday. The Scottish club settled for a goalless draw in the first leg at Ibrox last week. Oihan Sancet scored for the La Liga side before the break and Nico Williams doubled the lead in the 80th minute. Athletic had more possession [56%] and more attempts on goal than Rangers yesterday. The hosts had 22 attempts of which four were on target.

Wolverhampton Wanderers’ Nélson Semedo has a contract until June and has already been linked to Benfica. The Portugal international’s contract situation hasn’t impacted his role on the pitch. He’s been a regular this season, playing 2,679 minutes from 32 games this season. Friday’s edition of O Jogo claims Wolves have still not given up on retaining the right-back beyond the summer. The Premier League club’s board are pleased with Semedo’s performances and view him as their key player.

Earlier this month, we covered claims from Portugal which stated the striker has ‘given a yes’ to Arsenal sporting director Andrea Berta. Friday’s edition of A Bola covers Arsenal interest and Chelsea’s plan to try and get ahead of them in the transfer race. The Sweden international has 44 goals and 11 assists from 45 games this season.
