A White County teen returning home with a church group from a day at Dollywood died in a two-vehicle crash, on Aug. 18, 2024, in Crossville, according to a crash report released by Crossville Police Department. The victim was identified as Aiden James Linville, 13, of White County. He was a student at White County Middle School. He died from his injuries at The University of Tennessee Medical Center, in Knoxville. The report indicates two people were injured in the crash.

(Aug. 28, 2024) Tennessee State Parks officials are excited about improvements coming to Burgess Falls State Park, including a new Visitor Center and aviary, although work may impact the visitor experience until it is completed. “We always want our visitors to be able to enjoy the park as much as possible, and we can’t wait to see these new features,” said Park Manager Nathaniel Garrison. “We recognize the work may be an inconvenience, and we want to inform everyone fully about the project.

Clifford Clarke Christensen, 78, of Spencer, passed from this life, on June 1, 2024, at Cookeville Regional Medical Center. Cliff was born Feb. 15, 1946, in Danville, Virginia, and was the son of Andrew Christensen and Sally Clarke Christensen. A celebration of life service was 3 p.m., June 8, 2024, at Spencer First Baptist Church. Memorial donations may be made to Spencer Town Cemetery or the American Diabetes Association. Spencer Funeral Home was in charge of arrangements.
