By Ndivhuwo MukwevhoWitport Hospital evacuates all patients after overflow from Palala dam causes flooding. Local clinics and Ellisras Hospital taking in patients while roads remain dangerous. A Limpopo hospital had to move all its patients and staff to safety after heavy rains caused flooding from a nearby dam. Water from the overflowing Palala Dam has flooded Witport Hospital in Lephalale, forcing health workers to move patients to other facilities.

Polokwane – Chuene Clinic in Thokgwaneng village, Limpopo, remains closed since the horrific incident in which two nurses were abducted during the night shift by gunmen and later raped. Narrating the horror events of Friday, (10 January 2025), the Democratic Nursing Organisation of South Africa (DENOSA) said: “Two nurses working night duty were abducted at gunpoint, assaulted, and raped at Chuene Clinic in the Capricorn District”.

Thohoyandou – A 29-year-old father has been arrested in connection with the death of his 14-month-old son in Mphego village, outside of Thohoyandou, Limpopo. The accused had been on the run since Saturday, (4 January 2025), after his toddler’s body was found in an abandoned house in Mphego village. Allegations are that the father confessed his deeds to the toddler’s aunt and pointed out where the body was later found. The lifeless body of the toddler was found covered with a blue jacket.
