The list of underutilized federal buildings that the administration of President Donald Trump wants to offload continues to change — a huge office building near L’Enfant Plaza at 7th and D Streets in Southwest D.C. is the latest addition. At 845,169 square feet, the Federal Office Building, located on Southwest D.C.’s 301 Seventh Street, is the largest property so far on the U.S. General Services Administration list of “Assets identified for accelerated disposition,” on its website.

The chances of surviving cancer are greatly improved when it’s discovered early, yet a new study shows a decrease in the number of adults in the U.S. getting routine cancer screenings. According to the Prevent Cancer Foundation’s 2025 Early Detection Survey, 51% of adults 21 and older say they had a routine medical appointment or routine cancer screening in the past year. The five-year survival rate for many types of cancer is almost 90% when found early.

Three weeks after a researcher at Georgetown University was detained by federal immigration agents and accused of spreading Hamas propaganda, his lawyers have provided new details in an updated complaint filed in federal court, in Alexandria, Virginia. On March 17, Badar Khan Suri, an Indian national who lives in Rosslyn with his U.S.-born wife and three children, was detained near his home.
