    Ole Miss added a key member for its 2025-26 team Wednesday, signing former Louisville forward James Scott. Scott, a 6-foot-11, 220-pounder from Fayetteville, N.C., started 31 of 35 games for Louisville last season, helping the Cardinals to their first NCAA Tournament bid since 2019. Ole Miss beat out North Carolina State and Auburn for the coveted transfer. Scott shot 75.5 percent (108-143) from the floor, averaging 7.1 points per game.

    Maealiuaki Smith is transferring to Ole Miss, adding depth to the Rebels' quarterback room. Smith, a 6-foot-4, 185-pounder from Sacramento, Calif., played as a freshman at Oklahoma State in 2024. Smith completed 44 of 74 passes for 489 yards and two touchdowns for the Cowboys. He was intercepted four times. Smith started games against Texas Tech and Colorado. Against the Red Raiders, he was 26-for-35 passing for 316 yards, two touchdowns and an interception.

    Ole Miss continued to add to its 2026 signing class Sunday, landing a commitment from four-star running back Damarius Yates. Yates, a 5-foot-11, 175-pound all-purpose back from DeKalb (Kemper County), Miss., is rated by Rivals.com as the No. 13-ranked player in Mississippi. He committed to Mississippi State last fall before backing off that pledge in December. Yates said on social media he took an official visit to Ole Miss this weekend.

    Ole Miss picked up the fourth-ranked linebacker in the country Friday, flipping four-star Izayia Williams from Florida. Williams, a 6-foot-1, 210-pounder from Tavares, Fla., is ranked by Rivals as the seventh best prospect in the state of Florida and the No. 70 prospect nationally. Williams had been committed to Florida for the past two months. Prior to committing to the Gators, Williams had committed to Syracuse and Florida State. Williams visited Ole Miss late last month.
