The first half of ‘Warfare’ is dull but also tense; the second half is a nightmare of bullets, blood, smoke, and men screaming. Countless movies have told us that war is hell, in a variety of ways. But none of them have been as realistic, almost photorealistic, as ‘Warfare.’ It’s a modern masterpiece of terse, tight, macho filmmaking, and possibly the most true-life war film ever made.

‘Drop’ is a nasty little exploitation picture in disguise as a fun, snarky modern puzzlebox thriller. Its real reason for existence is to show women in various stages of physical distress. Women get clubbed over the head in this movie, thrown down the stairs, shot, stabbed, and casually tossed all over the kitchen like Nerf objects. Some men come to harm, too, but it’s mostly women.
