Veteran Tamil actor Delhi Ganesh, known for his versatile roles in over 400 films, passed away on Sunday. He was renowned for his ability to inhabit characters with authenticity, leaving a lasting impression on audiences. Stills from Mani Ratnam’s ‘Nayakan’ movie Few actors could get into the skin of a character as effortlessly as did Delhi Ganesh who passed away on Sunday. Whether as the police officer in Rajinikanth-starrer ‘Polladhavan’ (1980) or the advocate in Vijay’s ‘Thamizhan’ (2002).

CHENNAI: When Vijayakant started off in Kollywood in the early 1980s, several actresses refused to pair with him. They complained that he was too dark, lacked suavity and style. Not one to be disheartened by ridicule, the young man would prove that perseverance without bitterness could win hearts – and heroines. In the early years, Nalini, ‘Kozhi Koovuthu’ Viji, Saritha and Madhuri were among the few who were willing to play Vijayakant’s love interest.
