REVENUE COLLECTION After a successful year that saw a net revenue collection of R1.855-trillion, where R447.7-billion was paid back to taxpayers in the form of refunds, the taxman, aka the South African Revenue Service (Sars), is setting its sights on recovering outstanding debt. Sars Commissioner Edward Kieswetter told media yesterday that one of Sars’s targets going forward was to recover an additional R20-billion to R50-billion to strengthen the fiscus.
