Mumbai, April 24: Actor Sonali Bendre says she had decided to pack her bags and leave the film industry if she was unable to do a good performance in the song “Humma Humma” from Mani Ratnam’s 1995 movie “Bombay”. Bendre, who was barely five films old in the industry, said she was often “slammed” by choreographers for her moves until she got a breakthrough for her stint as the female dancer in the superhit track “Humma Humma” alongside Prabhu Deva’s brother Raju Sundaram.

Los Angeles, April 24: Several crew members were injured and two were hospitalised when a car and truck collided during shooting of the Eddie Murphy film “The Pickup” from Amazon MGM Studios, the studio and a person close to the production said. A studio spokesperson said in a statement to The Associated Press on Tuesday that the scene that led to Saturday’s accident in Georgia had been rehearsed and all safety precautions were taken.

Mumbai, April 24: Telugu movie “The Family Star”, featuring Vijay Deverakonda and Mrunal Thakur, will be available for streaming on Prime Video from April 26, the streamer announced on Wednesday. Written and directed by Parasuram, the romance family drama was released in theatres across India on April 5. According to Prime Video, “The Family Star” will stream in India and over 240 countries and territories in Telugu and Tamil, followed by dubs in Malayalam and Kannada.

New Delhi, April 24: “Sunflowers Were the First Ones to Know”, a short film by four students of the Film and Television Institute of India (FTII), has been selected for La Cinef Competitive section of the 2024 Cannes Film Festival. The film, directed by Chidanand S Naik, will compete with 17 other shorts for three La Cinef prizes, which will be awarded at a ceremony on May 23 in the Bunuel Theatre.

His statement comes following Union minister Kiren Rijiju’s remarks that there have been talks to relocate these refugees from Arunachal Pradesh to Assam after the implementation of the Citizenship (Amendment) Act (CAA).

ITANAGAR, April 22: Election Commission of India has ordered repolling in eight polling stations in Arunachal Pradesh where EVM damage and violence were reported during polling to simultaneous Lok Sabha and Assembly polls on April 19, an official said. The Commission in an order on Sunday declared the polling in the eight polling stations as void and ordered fresh polling on April 24 from 6 am to 2 pm, Deputy Chief Electoral Officer Liken Koyu said in a communique.
