He joins the growing list of people claiming that these oils are toxic. But are they? Seed oils include sunflower, rapeseed, corn and grapeseed oils. High heat, chemical solvents and extreme pressure are used to extract the oil from plant seeds. They are then further refined to stabilise it.

A bipartisan group of US lawmakers on Tuesday threatened to cut US funding for WADA, accusing it of failing to properly investigate alleged doping by Chinese Olympic swimmers. The US, the largest single country funder of WADA, has accused the global anti-doping body of not disclosing that 23 Chinese swimmers tested positive for performance-enhancing trimetazidine (TMZ) in China months before the Tokyo Olympics in 2021.

Australian Olympic swimming champion Zac Stubblety-Cook has refused to rule out staging a stadium protest over perceived failures in anti-doping testing. Stubblety-Cook beat Arno Kamminga of the Netherlands to win gold for Australia in the 200-metre breaststroke at the Tokyo Games. In Paris, he will defend his title against China’s Qin Haiyang.
