The latest ranking of the biggest construction equipment manufacturers in the world has been revealed. Published in the latest edition of International Construction magazine, the Yellow Table lists the top 50 biggest OEMs by their annual revenue for 2024 in US dollars. The newest edition of the Yellow Table showed that the world’s 50 largest construction OEMs generated a total revenue of US$237.6 billion.

That’s according to UK-based construction company Seddon, which has reported having 2,694 applicants for just 20 apprenticeship roles in its latest hiring round. Seddon warned that a lack of construction apprenticeships is locking talent out of the industry. The UK needs 50,000 new construction apprentices per year to meet workforce demand, according to the 2024 Construction Industry Training Board (CITB) Apprenticeship Report. Only 33,000 people started apprenticeships in 2023/24, however.

It was mostly strategic acquirers – in other words, companies operating in the residential construction space gobbling up rivals – who accounted for 22 of those 34 deals.
