Sponsorship received from the appeal will go towards buying match day kits, training clothes and waterproofs for players to wear – as well as cones, bibs and footballs for training sessions.

Subsea cables are, essentially, the arteries of offshore wind, critical to the beating heart of our energy transition. Indeed, the subsea cable sector for offshore wind has a potential, estimated value of over £100 billion across manufacture and installation over the next ten years. Their performance and reliability are therefore paramount, not only to developers and the industry, but to the whole country which will increasingly rely on the power that passes through them.

The two class 50 locomotives, numbers 50007, named Hercules, and 50049, named Defiance, were working Pathfinder Tours ‘Pilgrim Centurion’ from Swindon to Edinburgh in collaboration with the locomotives’ owner. The Class 50 Alliance was formed in 2006 following a merger between the Fifty Fund and Project Defiance, with the aim of securing the future of class 50 locomotives, and operating them for public benefit.

You may well be familiar with Venn diagrams – the ubiquitous pictures of typically two or three intersecting circles, illustrating the relationships between two or three collections of things. For example, during the pandemic, Venn diagrams helped to illustrate symptoms of Covid-19 that are distinct from seasonal allergies.
