Sri Lankan e-commerce platform Wishque suffered a data breach early this month. On 4 April, a data dump claiming to belong to wishque.com was published online. According to the post, the online platform was breached back on 30 March. This allegedly compromised 19.7 million records which includes customer emails and phone numbers. According to the post, these records also include credit card data (name, number, expiration date). But the full numbers appear to be obfuscated.

GovPay, the government’s effort at streamlining digital payments, has now expanded its service to include traffic fines. The news comes just two months after the government announced it was moving forward with the GovPay project. Initially opening with 14 government institutions, GovPay now covers 28, with the Sri Lanka Police being one of the latest on the list. Between April 11 and April 30, the pilot run of the new service will cover the Kurunegala (A6) to Anuradhapura (A9) roads.

Leaked documents from the recent Cargills data breach suggest that the company may have been warned about its lagging security measures almost a year ago. The details came to light after a data dump reportedly belonging to Cargills Bank was made public online. On March 20, a social media post claimed that the notorious ransomware group Hunters International had breached Cargills Bank. The bank shortly confirmed the attack, though it didn’t offer any specifics.
