    One of the most important things to me when considering an edtech tool is considering how the tool will integrate with the pedagogical practices I already have in place. It should not be about adjusting pedagogy to make the edtech tools take center stage, but instead leveraging those tools to make learning more powerful and more efficient.

    Project-based learning (PBL) can feel like an overwhelming practice for teachers. While there are many moving parts to manage when giving students agency in their learning, the introduction of artificial intelligence (AI) tools can help. I’ve used AI to support PBL in my classroom in many ways and have seen the benefits to my students and myself. One of the toughest things that a teacher can face at the end of a PBL lesson is getting students to reflect on their work.

    Rule number one is to make learning active. Learning during the pandemic showed that teacher-led direct instruction and rote memorization are not the best way to engage students. Fortunately, many schools during that time, shifted to more project-based learning (PBL) and toward learning activities (and pace) directed by students themselves.
