A seventeen-year-old boy of Little London, Westmoreland, has been charged with Assault at Common Law, Being in Possession of a Firearm at the time of Committing a First Scheduled offence and Using a Firearm to Commit a felony following an incident in his community on Wednesday, January 22.

FIREARM AND AMMUNITION SEIZED IN KINGSTON WESTERN

A team of officers assigned to the Kingston Western Police Division seized one 9mm pistol with a magazine containing nine 9mm rounds of ammunition during an operation on Charles Street in the parish on Wednesday, January 22. Reports from the Denham Town Police are that at about 9:10 a.m., lawmen were in the area when they saw a man. On seeing the police, the man ran and threw an object on the ground.
KINGSTON MAN CHARGED WITH BREACHES OF THE FIREARMS ACT

Thirty-one-year-old Andre Whyte, a laborer of George’s Close, Waltham Park Road, Kingston, was charged with Possession of a Prohibited Weapon and Unauthorized Possession of Ammunition following an incident in the community on Saturday, January 18. Reports from the Half Way Tree Police are that at about 7:00 a.m., the lawmen conducted an operation in the community when Whyte was seen climbing over a wall at the rear of a premises.
‘SPENT SHELL’ SLAPPED WITH MULTIPLE CHARGES UNDER THE FIREARMS ACT

Thirty-five-year-old Raymond Samuels, otherwise called ‘Spent Shell’ of Brontie district, Christiana, Manchester, has been charged with several offenses following a number of incidents in the parish in 2024. He has been charged with Shooting with Intent (6 counts), Possession of Prohibited Weapon (2 counts), Unauthorized Possession of Ammunition (2 counts), Using Firearm to Commit a Felony (2 counts), and Accessory after the fact to Murder.
TRELAWNY MAN FACES HOUSE BREAKING, LARCENY AND DESTRUCTION OF PROPERTY CHARGES

Detectives assigned to the Trelawny Policing Division charged 33-year-old Seon Hylton of Watt Town in the parish with House Breaking and Larceny and Malicious Destruction of Property, following an incident in Retreat Height, Falmouth on Friday, January 17. Reports from the Falmouth Police are that at about 3:30 p.m., the caretaker of the property visited the house, where she observed suspicious activities in the kitchen.

Lawmen attached to the Clarendon Policing Division have charged a construction worker with Knowingly Possessing Identity Information of Another, following an operation in the district of Bucknor, May Pen, Clarendon, on Friday, January 17. Charged is 29-year-old Rodrick Bell of Bucknor district, May Pen, Clarendon.
Japan Supports the Jamaica Constabulary Force with Vehicle Donation

The Jamaica Constabulary Force (JCF) received 27 Toyota Land Cruiser pickup trucks from the Japan International Cooperation Agency (JICA) on Tuesday, December 10. The vehicles were officially presented in a ceremony hosted at the Offices of the Commissioner of Police. Deputy Commissioner of Police Karina Powell-Hood represented the police commissioner at the ceremony, which was attended by the Deputy Prime Minister and Minister of National Security.
FARMERS BUSTED FOR LOTTERY FRAUD

Investigators assigned to the Black River Criminal Investigations Branch (CIB) have arrested and charged two farmers who allegedly used fake lottery tickets to fleece hundreds of thousands of dollars from an establishment in Santa Cruz, St. Elizabeth last month. Charged are 37-year-old Zanu Williams and 26-year-old Jahvin Borda, both farmers of Burnt Savannah District, St Elizabeth.
