    On the Thursday before Thanksgiving break, I attended night one of a three-night showcase of the Vassar Repertory Dance Theater (VRDT). While not particularly well-versed in the technical aspects of dance, I found the performance to be captivating in its diverse collection of dance pieces. The opening piece was “Swan Lake Act II,” an ethereal orchestral number with a group of 17 white-tutu-clad dancers gracefully performing. It was an enrapturing performance of classic ballet.

    Late last month, the prolific video game company Nintendo released the Nintendo Music App, a streaming service for the music of its broad catalog of games, available for Nintendo Switch Online subscribers. Nintendo has long kept their video game music off of digital services, with fans having to rely primarily on compressed YouTube rips to listen to their favorite tracks, so this announcement was exciting for me and many others.

    Last week, I saw a poster in the College Center for an event titled “The Mike Show.” The poster described the event as “a New Sitcom live from Sanders Auditorium.” My first assumption was that this was some sort of surreal-themed comedy or theater show attached to a club, but no organization was listed. Curious about this mystery, I attended “The Mike Show” pilot. Despite it being on a Wednesday night at 9 p.m., there was a modest crowd of around a hundred.
