Today is a First Alert Weather Impact Day. Light rain is anticipated during the morning drive before dissipating between 9 AM and noon. Rainfall totals from this initial wave will range from a couple of tenths of an inch to up to three-quarters of an inch. Pop-up showers and a few thunderstorms are expected this afternoon; however, it will not be a washout. Sunny and much warmer weather begins on Friday and stretches through the weekend.

Today is a First Alert Weather Impact Day. While it won’t be a washout, it will still be a day for a rain jacket or umbrella. Intermittent light rain showers and periods of drizzle are expected to continue throughout the day with thick stratus clouds overhead, which will keep afternoon temperatures in the lower 60s – 10 to 15 degrees below normal for this time of year.

WE HOPE WE HAVE THEM HOME HERE NEXT WEEK. ON THE OTHER SIDE OF WHAT’S GOING TO BE A CHILLY AND RAINY STRETCH FOR MEMORIAL DAY WEEKEND, KNOWN AS THE UNOFFICIAL START OF SUMMER, IT’S NOT REALLY GOING TO FEEL LIKE SUMMER AT ALL. I MEAN, REALLY THINK OF THEM AS LAKE DAYS OR POOL DAYS. I KNOW PEOPLE ARE GOING TO GET OUT TO THEM. IT’S JUST YOU’RE GOING TO HAVE TO PREPARE FOR THE RAIN AND THE CHILL AND THE WATER.

Today will feel more like October than May, with high temperatures only reaching the upper 60s this afternoon, despite abundant sunshine. Cloud cover will steadily increase throughout the day on Friday, bringing a chance of afternoon and evening rain showers.
