After placing fifth at the state tennis meet as a freshman, Erickson had high expectations going into the next two seasons.

Wednesday night's Eastern Midlands Conference soccer tournament championship lived up to the hype, as the top two teams in Class B went toe-to-toe for 40 grueling minutes, with the winner not being decided until the final 30 seconds of the match. Spectators watching the Adams Central boys wrestling team host Fillmore Central hardly had time to enjoy the dual before it was over. Of the 14 weight classes, only two matches on the night went into second period. Ten bouts finished with a pin, three weight classes were left open, and one match ended via tech fall. The two teams squared off against each other in the final dual of the Tri County duals tournament over the weekend, with Adams Central winning 47-34 in a match similar to Tuesday's.

This honestly makes it worse if that’s true. They hurried up to the line to spike the ball for what, the opportunity to run a dumb play to waste a few seconds? Spike the ball with five seconds left and kick your field goal, if that really was your plan.
