Ask everyone in the Golf Monthly office and they’ll tell you they’re fed up to the back teeth of me talking about the final three holes at Augusta National. To be clear, The Masters is my favourite event of the year and it’s as close to perfect as a golf tournament can be. However, perfection doesn’t exist and there are ways to improve everything, including the year’s first Major Championship.

Every golf fan loves The Masters and Augusta National, but, as with any layout, some holes are better than others. In life, there’s so such thing as perfection and that applies to arguably the finest golf course ever constructed. When Bobby Jones and Clifford Roberts co-founded Augusta National in 1932, even they couldn’t have expected a former nursery to become the world’s most sought-after course. Alister MacKenzie was the man employed to turn a vision into beautiful reality.

Billy Foster, Ricci Roberts and Terry Mundy have caddied in more than 70 Masters between them, principally for Seve Ballesteros, Matt Fitzpatrick, Ernie Els and Ian Poulter respectively. They're three of the most experienced caddies in the world of golf and have a huge amount of knowledge to impart. As such, they're perfectly placed to discuss the challenge of Augusta National, what goes on inside the ropes and what it takes to land the Green Jacket. Without further ado...

Golf is a wonderful and addictive sport and the vast majority of those who are bitten by the bug will have a lifelong relationship with the game (as long as health permits). But that’s not to say it’s perfect. It can be an expensive sport to play, golfers are often a pedantic bunch and modernisation is perhaps happening slower than many would like. On top of that, it requires people to behave in the appropriate way (this doesn’t mean you can’t have fun).

I find golf clubs fascinating yet confusing places. I love the sport and I’ve had so many incredible experiences at different courses and inside different clubhouses all over the world. But I also find some facilities and members bizarrely and inexplicably obstinate, especially when it comes to visitors.

Hey @SkySportsGolf, there are other people in the field apart from Rory McIlroy. Maybe focus on some of them too? #themasters

Really bizarre from the @SkySportsGolf commentary team. Justin Rose absolutely flushed it today and played a sublime round, yet they’re saying he needs to go to the range because of two bad drives. The guy is three shots clear, give him some credit! #TheMasters

Awful pace of play at #TheMasters after Fred Ridley made a point of addressing it during his pre-tournament press conference. Rose group has been out there for 4 hours and 20 minutes and haven’t reached the 14th green
