JOHNSON CITY, Tenn. (WJHL) – The Buffaloes finished strong on the third and final day of the Appalachian Athletic Conference track & field championships – earning individual victories and a team trophy. The Milligan men dominated the field, securing the team championship with a whopping 199 points. Reinhardt placed a distant second with 126 points, while Montreat earned third with 123 points. Columbia secured the women’s team championship, scoring 141 points.

KNOXVILLE, Tenn. (WJHL) – Kentucky took advantage of two UT errors in the third inning, scoring a pair of runs to put them on a winning path Saturday night. The visitors also played some small-ball, using an RBI groundout and sac fly in the sixth to help secure the 4-1 win. The Vols’ lone tally came from Hunter Ensley in the eighth inning. His RBI single brought Lindsey Nelson Stadium to life, but Tennessee couldn’t score any additional runs late.

KNOXVILLE, Tenn. (WJHL) – Tennessee softball completed a perfect weekend over the visiting Tigers on Saturday afternoon, winning 4-1. The Lady Vols tallied just six hits, but applied pressure on the base paths by drawing seven walking in the victory. A bases-loaded wild pitch helped UT open the scoring in the second inning. In the fifth, McKenna Gibson laced an RBI single to the wall in center field, stretching the edge to 2-0.
