The Northern Echo's flagship business magazine, BUSINESSiQ, has scooped a major award. The quarterly publication, which carries in-depth interviews with major businesses and their leaders from across the North East, has been chosen as Supplement of the Year at the UK's Regional Press Awards in London. The judges said: "The supplement has a clever commercial and editorial strategy, as well as a diversity of sources and voices.

THE Stadium of Light will be among a range of sporting venues and tourism hotspots across the UK to be the settings for trials of new types of 5G mobile technology as part of an £88 million Government scheme. Nineteen projects and locations from around the country will host trials of Open RAN mobile tech, which enables different network providers’ equipment to work together to boost mobile coverage, rather than each only working with their own.
