Woodstock’s public library gave a sneak peak of the new facilities this past weekend. The library hopes to open its new digs on September 6. What once was Miller/Howard Investments headquarters on Dixon Avenue in Bearsville will house a larger children’s room, a full bank of computers for public use, a 3D printing station, and more restrooms. “Our current library has one bathroom,” said library board secretary Marcia Patten.

Woodstock now has its own sports bar, The Clubhouse, thanks to an accidental encounter. It recently opened at the Woodstock Golf Club. The Clubhouse offers light pub fare, beers and signature cocktails. It features large-screen televisions with most major sports packages and a game room with a full-size pool table and some classic arcade games. After the May 20 defeat at the polls of its ambitious $75.1-million bonding proposal, the Onteora School Board discussed at its June 3 meeting how it will carry out its consolidation plans. “I’ll speak for myself. I’m very disappointed that the bond failed. But I am not devastated,” board president Cindy Bishop said. “I do think that with some work we can get the bond passed and continue to work toward my dream and many of our dreams of a central campus.
