LA 2028 just got a whole lot speedier in the pool. With the confirmation of the event programme and athlete quotas for the coming Summer Games, swimming will see each of the 50m breaststroke, butterfly, and backstroke added to its calendar. The news came after the approval by the Executive Board (EB) of the International Olympic Committee (IOC), announced Wednesday (9 April). That brings the total medal events in swimming to 41 - up from 35 at Paris 2024.
