This year’s meeting opener, the Queen Anne Stakes, is a top-notch renewal, but Lead Artist is the clubhouse leader in the older miling division after winning the Lockinge at Newbury, from which the first four all meet again. There seems to be a belief that Rosallion will have little trouble in turning around the Lockinge form, but he has over two lengths to find and when you dig into his form from last season, it is not hard to pick holes in it.

Having seen off Lady Of Andros to win the class two handicap, attention swiftly turned to the valuable Churchill Tyres Supporting Macmillan Sprint Handicap for which she is declared. However, Sean Quinn feels she might have done enough for the week.

A member of one of the most famous racing families in Yorkshire, he trained with great success on the Flat and over jumps before retiring in 1996. He was succeeded by his son, Tim, while his brother Mick still shares a licence today with his own son, David, with many other members of the family involved in racing. Tim Easterby announced on X: "It is with great sadness that we announce the passing of my father Peter Easterby. "He passed away peacefully in his own home with his family by his side.
