    Demonstrators are taking to the streets in cities and towns across Wisconsin for a "No Kings" protest, designed to rebuke what organizers call a "dictator-like" birthday display from President Donald Trump. The protests in Wisconsin mirror similar demonstrations across the country intended as counter-programing to a massive military parade in Washington Saturday night. The parade, which celebrates the 250th anniversary of the U.S. Army, coincides with Trump's 79th birthday.

Madonna scored her first Top 10 single with “Borderline.”And on the south side of Milwaukee, Frankie Yankovic, “America’s Polka King,” performed at the Our Lady Queen of Peace Parish Festival. In attendance that day was 6-year-old Mike Schneider. His parents planned to drop him off at the festival rides while they enjoyed the polka show.

    Milwaukee Public Schools and the city of Milwaukee will split the costs of putting police officers in schools, ending the ongoing fight over moving the issue forward, a judge ruled Monday. Milwaukee County Circuit Court Judge David Borowski ruled both entities have 10 days to have officers in schools or face sanctions and a potential contempt of court ruling.

    The federal government is suing two property management companies that operate in Wisconsin for anti-competitive price manipulation. Greystar and Willow Bridge are two of six defendants added last week to a Department of Justice lawsuit first filed in August. At the center of the suit is the software company RealPage. It lets landlords upload detailed data about their rentals, pools that data and uses it to generate "pricing recommendations," according to the DOJ's complaint.

Duffy represented northern Wisconsin’s 7th Congressional District from 2011 to 2019. Now, he is President-elect Donald Trump’s pick for secretary of transportation. But his soon-to-be boss barely figured in the proceedings of the Senate Committee on Commerce, Science and Transportation.
