The La Familia roster is nearing completion ahead of the 2025 edition of The Basketball Tournament. Two more pieces appear to have been added to the puzzle, Archie Goodwin and Kahlil Whitney. The TBT typically slowly rolls out roster announcements to increase fanfare. On Monday, we learned Ansley Almonor will represent the Mark Pope era on the La Familia roster.

It is an eventful summer in Murray, Kentucky, and not just because the Racers played in their first-ever College World Series. Earlier this month, officers responded to a disturbance at The Big Apple Bar and Grille just after 9 PM on a Friday night. The person of interest was Jonathan Mason, who allegedly released a raccoon in the business. Why would someone bring a raccoon into a bar? Mary Hafner, a bartender who was at the scene, shared the story with The New York Post.

Summer is a busy time for high school football recruiting. It’s nearing its crescendo. The dead period begins one week from today. Kentucky is using the final 10 days to host as many of its targets as possible before many return home to make final decisions. The Wildcats hosted five players for official visits over the weekend. Three more players arrived in Lexington on Sunday. As they depart on Tuesday, four more players will arrive in Lexington.

Kentucky is in the market for offensive linemen in the 2026 recruiting class. Unfortunately, Louisville is going to the market and raiding the shelves like a panicked Karen ahead of a snowstorm. For the second time in less than 24 hours, a Kentucky offensive line target committed to Louisville. Charlie Edgeworth announced on social media that he will play for the Cards. Edgeworth took two official visits this summer, kicking things off at Kentucky, then traveling to Louisville on June 6.

Now that it will soon be a reality, how will the University of Kentucky handle this massive undertaking? By and large, Mitch Barnhart is not ready to answer that question, or really any question about how the athletics department will function in the revenue-sharing era of college athletics.

RT @AdamLuckettKSR: You never expect to see a CFB coaching departure in June but signs were there that something was not right with Kentuck…

Beating UofL for a recruit is one way to make a statement following Vince Marrow’s departure.

Kentucky lands its second commitment this week, 3-star ATH Jordan Crutchfield, the No. 416 overall player in the 2026 class. Crutchfield visited UK last weekend and was scheduled to visit Louisville this weekend. https://t.co/RhpZ38JtrH https://t.co/e1z1txDHv8

We talk a lot about John Schlarman the talent developer. We never talked about John Schlarman the recruiter. He signed 9 offensive linemen. All 9 became starters, many multi-year starters. THAT IS INSANE. HE DID NOT MISS. https://t.co/MDkGK7ADYN https://t.co/p12swDalc9
