Zack Wheeler started falling behind in his counts and then, just as quickly, into trouble. Nolan Arenado lined a single into left after drawing a 3-1 count, and then Wilson Contreras, in the same scenario an at-bat later, got a hold of another heater and launched it over the wall. The Phillies never recovered from it.

Maybe it's a sign that Pelletier is getting comfortable in Philly after arriving from Calgary through the Joel Farabee/Morgan Frost trade from a couple of months ago. It's an important showing for the 24-year-old, too, as he tries to carve out his own role on the Flyers heading toward next year.

It was the top Phillies prospect's 2025 debut and his first minor-league appearance since 2022 after undergoing a lengthy rehab from Tommy John surgery for the past two years.

The Braves got to Zack Wheeler and the Phillies' bullpen in Game 1, Bryce Harper and Trea Turner answered back in Game 2, and then the rain rolled in and put a pause on the series finale Thursday night – along with another stellar start from Jesús Luzardo. It took until 11:30 for play to resume, which bled into extra innings, early Friday morning, and one more exchange of leads, but the Braves left Truist Park on top.

Tyson Foerster fired home two lasers and then fought for the empty-net look over center ice to complete his first career hat trick on Wednesday night. The first goal he beamed over the shoulder of New York goaltender Jonathan Quick to get the Flyers on the board; the second he teed up on a one-time feed to break the Rangers' will late; and the third, he cut in on a clearing lob that New York's Adam Fox tried to bat down with his glove.
