The Department of Lifelong Learning at Virginia Theological Seminary has been awarded a $24,000 grant to create a new program to help congregations talk about science and faith. The money was awarded by the American Association for the Advancement of Science Dialogue on Science, Ethics, and Religion (AAAS DoSER) program as part of its Science Engagement for Congregational Flourishing initiative.

The Center for Anglican Communion Studies (CACS) at Virginia Theological Seminary (VTS) was excited to host a groundbreaking Women Mentoring Women conference this week. The four-day event, which took place at VTS, was designed to empower Anglican women leaders by connecting them, enabling them to build friendships, learn from one another, and explore issues facing women in leadership, such as poverty, conflict, gender injustice and violence.

Shawn Strout, Ph.D., Assistant Professor of Worship and Associate Dean of Chapel at VTS. The comprehensive handbook provides a complete resource for both clergy and lay liturgical leaders on the theology, liturgy, and practice of the pastoral offices.

ALEXANDRIA, Va., September 20, 2024 – Virginia Theological Seminary (VTS) has been awarded a $1.25 million grant by Lilly Endowment Inc. to launch an initiative to research and develop child-centered practices in worship. The program is being funded through Lilly Endowment’s Nurturing Children Through Worship and Prayer Initiative, a national initiative designed to help Christian congregations more fully and intentionally engage children in intergenerational corporate worship and prayer practices.

NEW YORK, September 26, 2024 – The General Theological Seminary (GTS) today announced it had signed an agreement to lease the Close to Vanderbilt University. The arrangement will secure GTS’ presence on the Close for decades to come, see building improvements carried out, and enable the Seminary to expand its highly successful Master of Divinity (MDiv) degree and potentially introduce new programming.
