Exposure to second-hand tobacco smoke (SHS) has reduced significantly in the UK, driven by restrictions on smoking in public places introduced in 2006/7, falling smoking prevalence, and a shift in social norms (Semple et al, 2019). However, although these changes have led to the protection of most of the population there continue to be some occupations where workers are exposed to SHS as part of their work activities.
