Entertainment 18 December, 2024. Comedian and drag performer Murray Hill is set to host the first-ever drag king reality competition series, The King of Drag, which will debut on the LGBTQ+ streaming service Revry in Spring 2025. For many people, the word ‘drag’ instantly conjures an image of a queen, but these hyper-feminine characters only represent one subset of the genre. Drag kings have been performing under masculine identities for ages.

Calling all fans of drag, stand-up comedy, and live music, TENI is hosting a spectacular Trans Culture Night in Dublin as part of Transfusion, their legendary arts and performance festival celebrating trans people. Established in 2013, the Transfusion Music and Arts Festival won a Galas award for Event of the Year in 2016 for their incredible work in platforming and celebrating Ireland’s trans community.

Ireland 20 November, 2024. Transgender Day of Remembrance (TDOR) takes place every November 20, inviting people to pause, mourn, and remember all of the lives that were cut short due to acts of anti-trans violence. This important tradition began in 1999 when transgender activist Gwendolyn Ann Smith created a vigil to honour the memory of Rita Hester, a Black transgender woman and activist from Massachusetts, who was passionate about education on transgender identities.

After years of protests and controversy, New York’s Staten Island has finally agreed to lift the 60-year ban preventing LGBTQ+ groups from marching in the annual St Patrick’s Day Parade. All LGBTQ+ groups will be welcome to march in the borough’s annual Irish celebration for the first time ever in 2025.
