City of Erie Code Enforcement officers tackled their first of six planned sweeps to clean up neglected properties. “We really want to get the community up to par and healthy and safe for everybody,” said Joel Brink, a City of Erie Code Enforcement officer. Money earmarked for the former Miller Brothers building on State Street might not make its way to Erie. Congressional appropriations funding, approximately $3 million worth, originally allocated for the renovation of the State Street property, has been halted by the Trump administration. City officials said they will forge ahead with renovations for an Emergency Operations Center. Overhead doors were being installed today where police will store evidence.
