AIR CARGO enjoyed a spectacular start to the year, according to data collected by air transport association IATA, writes Nigel Tomkins. Demand for airfreight services shot up by 18.4 per cent in January of this year, it says. January’s global air cargo markets data indicated a strong start to 2024, with total demand, measured in cargo-tonne-kilometers (CTKs), up by 18.4 per cent on January 2023 levels (19.8 per cent for international operations).
