Potton United finish season with derby win over Biggleswade United

Potton finished the season with a narrow 2-1 win over local rivals Biggleswade United. In the first half playing against the wind Potton scored two well taken goals, but after the interval Biggeswade made four substitutions, changed their formation and mainly dominated the half but could only score one goal. Potton made the perfect start in the 2nd minute when a Biggleswade defender played the ball back to the keeper who picked it up in his area.
Potton United break winless run in emphatic fashion

Potton got their first win since 1st March with a convincing 6-1 victory at Crawley Green. Crawley dominated the first half hour but when Crowter scored with a low free kick. Potton then played some delightful football and scored some very well taken goals. An early free kick from Tony Gibbs found Eddie Connolly whose shot was easily saved.
Potton United pay dearly for own goals in defeat to Aylesbury Vale Dynamos

Potton got off to the worst possible start conceding two own goals in the first 18 minutes. They fought back, scored after a penalty but after that had trouble breaking down a strong Aylesbury defence. Aylesbury attacked from the kick off and Peake-Pijen forced a full length save from Sam Galatis. In the second minute following a long throw in from Ebondo the ball went in off Mike Evans head into the net to give Aylesbury the lead.
Potton United are beaten by champions Milton Keynes Irish

Potton formed a guard of honour as Champions Milton Keynes Irish came onto the pitch and then proceeded to gift them the first two goals through some poor defending. Although Potton could not be faulted for lack of effort Irish controlled the game and Potton did not look like scoring. Guess tried an early long shot that went all along the ground and was easily saved by Jack Galatis.Robbie Sutherland, in trying to play the ball out lost possession and Smith shot wide.
Potton United beaten at Kempton Rovers by late winner

This match seemed to be heading for a dull 0-0 draw until the 84th minute when Kempston broke away and scored a very well taken goal to take the three points. As seems normal nowadays Potton were without numerous players, for one reason or another, and Assistant Manager Jack Galatis team selection was very limited. Those that did play could not be faulted for effort.
Potton United pick up away point at Dunstable on Non-League Day

Potton United drew 0-0 at Dunstabe United in front of a bumper Non -League crowd of 322 spectators. Although they didn’t see any goals scored they saw an entertaining match between two sides who wanted to play football. The flow of the match was helped by a referee who had an excellent match.Potton had intended to start with Samuel Parker but he was injured in the pre-match warm up so Ryan Lamond took his place and was awarded “Man of the Match” for his performance.

For the second week running Potton played a team chasing promotion and again took a well-earned point. In the First Half Tring dominated play and must have rued some missed chances. In the second half the young Potton side came more into it and competed well as goalkeeper Sam Galatis making some outstanding saves throughout the match. Early play favoured Tring with a shot being blocked and then Max Hercules shooting wide after Potton had pushed up.

A well deserved point for Potton when they travelled to third place Cockfosters, who are chasing promotion. The start of the match was delayed whilst the nets one end were being repaired—Sam Galatis climbing on someone’s should to tape the net to the cross bar. Cockfosters started strongly with Galatis saving from Lutaaya and then Rookard was put through and Galatis blocked his effort.

Potton recorded their first league win since early January and first clean sheet since early in December after beating FC Romania 1-0. Potton also included 3 new signings—one who started the match and two that came on as substitutes. In the early minutes Essa Rashan did well to clear off the line following a corner. He then was at the other end to shoot over the bar.
Potton United knocked out of Gladwish Challenge Trophy after defeat at Tring.

Potton went out at the quarter-final stage of the Gladwish Challenge Trophy losing 4-2 to a Tring side that had been undefeated since the middle of December. On a muddy and difficult pitch both teams tried to play football and it was Tring who led at half-time with goals from Osborne in the 11th minute and Deer in the Deer. Potton had at lease three good chances and did not take them. After the interval Tring added a further two goals from Hercules with in the 54th and 67th minutes.
