NASHVILLE, Tenn. (WKRN) — After nearly two decades of sitting silent, Councilwoman Joy Styles hopes to move forward with plans to breathe new life into the Starwood Amphitheatre. The venue leaves behind fond memories for Nashville natives. “My first memory, I was a teenager, I was in high school and my friends and I went to Starwood to attend an NSYNC concert, they had tickets I did not, and I was lucky enough to get in for free with a radio promotion,” said local Courtney Gray.

The commission will request that $8.2 million be added to the county budget at a Thursday Budget, Finance & Investment meeting. The proposal was first introduced by County Commissioner Jonathan Beverly after a January pay study.

CLARKSVILLE, Tenn. (WKRN) — Starting next school year, districts across the state will be required to ban cellphones from the classroom. Last week, the Clarksville-Montgomery School Board of Education voted on its new policy, which prohibits cellphone use for the entire school day. Last year, school board members touted Kenwood High School’s no cellphone policy as a success.
